Beckstones uses LED technology for solutions in outdoor lighting. LED technology delivers an outstanding performance and economy. Our LEDs have a very long lifetime. In fact LEDs are not broken and useless after their defined lifetime. They are still lighting with half of their original luminosity. LEDs are robust, insensitive, vibration-proof and shatter-proof. Beckstones are protected by an enclosure so humidity, chemicals and mechanical influences don’t have a great impact to the LED. The power consumption is just a 0.4W per LED. Instead of a 20w lighting bulb you could light up approximately 50 Beckstones. Besides the 12V low voltage systems has less security requirements for power handling to fulfill. So you can get a reasonable installation of your Beckstones.

Solar Energy 

In some areas of LED-Technology solar powered systems are offered. Especially outdoor lighting is a field of use. LEDs consume very low energy. So it seems to be smart to combine a solar cell, battery with a LED lighting system. It works for a while but in the long run you have to replace the weak battery every two years in a standard system. That is why we recommend plugging in your Beckstones to the standard AC adapter for the time being. We’ll keep you updated about new developments and options by using solar panels with Beckstones.
