Commitment to Sustainability
and Environmental Protection
JoBe Lighting is committed to the responsible use of resources and environmentally conscious business practices.
JoBe Lighting considers it a matter of course to support legally compliant and environmentally sound recycling of waste lamps and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) across Europe.
Regulatory Framework
European Directive 2002/96/EC, as amended by Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), establishes binding obligations for manufacturers, importers and distributors regarding the take-back and proper disposal of electrical and electronic equipment. The Directive has been transposed into national law in all EU Member States.
Dedicated collection organisations have been established throughout the EU to coordinate the collection of waste lamps and electrical equipment, recover valuable secondary raw materials, and ensure the environmentally compliant disposal of non-recyclable components.
Take-Back and Disposal Service for JoBe Lighting Customers in Germany
JoBe Lighting GmbH is registered in Germany for the relevant equipment categories with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (ear) under WEEE registration number 72327010. JoBe Lighting thereby fulfils its obligations under the German Circular Economy Act (Kreislaufwirtschaftsgesetz, KrWG), the Battery Act (Batteriegesetz, BattG), and the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz, ElektroG) in full.
In partnership with Lightcycle, Germany's leading take-back scheme, we offer a sustainable return service and professional recycling for the following product categories from our range:
- › LightStone LED paver lights
- › JoBe Road Studs – marker lights with solar module and battery
- › JoBe Road Studs – hardwired marker lights (12V DC)
For Commercial Operators of B2C Lamps and B2C/B2B Waste Electrical Equipment
The party obliged to dispose of waste electrical equipment must either return it to the manufacturer in accordance with the ElektroG, or notify the Stiftung ear of the quantities recycled, recovered or exported.
To make compliance as straightforward as possible, we provide — in partnership with Lightcycle — access to over 400 high-volume collection points throughout Germany. B2C and dual-use waste lamps can be returned there directly, without any reporting obligation to the Stiftung ear. This ensures simple, legally compliant disposal while contributing to the conservation of valuable raw materials: over 90% of the components in waste lamps can be recycled.
For quantities of one tonne or more, Lightcycle offers a dedicated collection service — including for waste luminaires. To locate your nearest high-volume collection point, please visit the Lightcycle website.
Disposal of Professional (B2B) Waste Electrical Equipment
For the disposal of professional B2B waste electrical equipment from JoBe — including LED luminaires and power supply units — a dedicated return service is available through Lightcycle.

Please specify: B2B waste electrical equipment — including product series, scope and estimated weight.
Upon review of your request, Lightcycle will arrange compliant free-of-charge disposal and designate a regional disposal facility or organise a collection. Please delete any personal data stored on the device prior to handover, and remove and separately dispose of any batteries or rechargeable cells via retail collection points, recycling centres, or hazardous waste collection services.
Following completed disposal, the quantities disposed of are reported by JoBe Lighting to the Elektro-Altgeräte Register as part of the annual declaration and duly documented.
